Octoberfest

I have three wonderful children; Ian, Nate and Fiona, with my amazing wife Kerrie Malone. Kerrie is an art director, designer who currently works on a contract basis with a number of small and medium sized clients, and a few very large clients. In 2005 she worked for walmart.com as art director and manager of the web design staff. Before that, sapient.com (who acquired adjacency.com) and a few others. She’s an amazing woman, wife, mom and designer. I’m a lucky man.

My mom, Colleen Malone, is incredibly creative and has the best smile in the world. She’s an amazing painter, loves to garden, and professionally has been building homes as a General Contractor since 1980 or thereabouts.

My father, Roy Malone, is a former educator turned mortgage broker/banker. He and my brother started the mortgage brokerage firm Stratus Financial, in the early 90s, and later sold it to Western Sierra Bank (which was later bought by Umpqua Bank). He’s a fantastic dad who shared my love of Africa during our 2 years there, and who planed the seed of photography in my blood (thanks pops).

My Sister, Shannon Pogue, is also incredibly creative, designing and building homes for 20 or so years with my mom. You can find more about my mom and sister’s company MalonePogue Construction on their website.

My brother
Roy Malone, as I mentioned, worked with my father on Stratus Financial and then ran the mortgage division of Western Sierra Bank after their acquisition of Stratus. Umpqua Bank bought Western Sierra Bank 10 or so years later. Then he founded his own company Epic Capital before becoming President of a new Sacramento-based bank Golden Pacific Bank. Roy is also a licensed general contractor and an adventure racing stud.
